IT Cosmetics, a division of Loreal, wanted to implement a gamified, reward-driven Learning Management System (LMS) to fully immerse employees in their brand and mission. They also wanted to celebrate their global presence and focus on customer touch points around the world. But training is so much more thank “checking the box,” Shannon Pirie, Group Vice President and Global Brand Ambassador wanted to ensure that her training was fun, engaging, and fast. Her goal was to instill confidence in her worldwide sales team

We fully customized our LMS, Motivate Cloud, to create an engaging, brand specific learning journey for IT Cosmetics Global LMS, a division of Loreal, to create interactive, game-based training platform that educates sales associates around the globe.

We fully customized our LMS, Motivate Cloud, to create an engaging, brand-specific learning journey for their team. Shannon came to us with several amazing ideas as to how to make the software better and more effective. We welcomed the challenge to realize her vision. The IT Cosmetics Global LMS is an interactive, game-based training platform that educates sales associates around the globe with micro modules, games, points, badges, and tangible rewards. She wanted the program to be as addictive as Candy Crush and as social as TikTok. She wanted to meet her learners where they are and give them training in an easy and digestible way.
When employees login they are greeted by a whimsical animation that showcases a variety of IT Cosmetics products and geographies. Then, they are presented with a unique passport that includes all of their personal information, level of accomplishments, and available badges.
After viewing their player profile, learners are introduced to a learning journey that includes:
- online and Instructor led courses that utilize micro slides and videos
- reinforcement games
- an interactive education (EDU) manual
While the modules and games are designed to teach and test employees, the EDU manual provides on-the-fly information about the brand and products. The flexibility of the program was key, Shannon wanted to make sure that the training content could be updated easily and quickly, and as often as she needed.
To further engage learners, IT Cosmetics uses the community feature so employees can learn and collaborate with others about what they know. Learners can ask questions and share expertise in a safe and searchable environment. This learning community combines both formal and informal learning by connecting employees with experts around the globe while always keeping them knowledgeable about company announcements and new product launches.
The ultimate goal was to ensure that this custom learning platform was as interactive and engaging as a live training session. The robust analytics allows the trainer to truly understand what the learners are absorbing and where there may be gaps.
Cenario VR for IT Cosmetics
We also created this amazing VR experience for IT Cosmetics using the Cenario VR platform to ensure that her sales team was fully immersed in the IT Cosmetics world. This world includes Restorative rooms where you can access a yoga class on demand to energize you or relax you. The experience is also filled with affirmations and positive messaging, which is Shannon’s personal mission – to change the way the industry talks about beauty. We are constantly adding components to the VR experience. We built the structure so that changes are easy to make without a heavy lift.
